FORTÉ planned and supported the ECE Group with the digitalization and modernization of 26,000m² in Hamburg.

ECE: Campus Hamburg with Smart Building

Together with Thing Technologies, FORTÉ is digitizing part of the new Campus Hamburg area as a system integrator. A new working environment is being created here in which users can work efficiently – digitally and with as little complexity as possible.

The project in Hamburg

For the project development “Campus Hamburg, the ECE Group has planned a pioneering implementation of various smart building functions. It involves 26,000 square meters of state-of-the-art office space – that’s almost 21 Olympic swimming pools. One of the buildings will be “smart”. The name Campus therefore appropriately stands for an open, creative space, lots of greenery and flexible working. Above all: individual.

The site includes landscaped courtyards, outdoor areas, roof terraces and a shared conference center and cafeteria. In total, there is space for 1,700 modern workstations on 6 floors. Also part of the project is the listed historic farm workers’ house “Langer Jammer”, which is also being modernized and visually reflects the character of the city.

With its established plan-build-operate approach, FORTÉ supports the entire process from planning to operation. The Thing-it software platform is at the heart of building digitization. The other hardware technologies, sensors and building interfaces were coordinated in the overall concept. The aim is to provide users with a special experience in the new building. Smart access control and elevator control are integrated for this purpose. Of course, users also have other software features at their disposal, for example to book a workstation or meeting room, report faults or find colleagues in the building.

Certified: WiredScore and DGNB with the help of IoT

In addition to the workspace experience, sustainability is also a key factor in Hamburg. The Wired ScorePlatinum for digitized buildings has already been awarded. Five key aspects of digital connectivity are certified: Reliability, future-proofing, wireless and WLAN connectivity, choice options and user experience. With this certificate, Campus Hamburg joins the ranks of famous buildings such as the Empire State Building in New York and The Shard in London.

In the area of sustainability, the DGNB Gold Standard is the goal. The Smart building functionswith. The building interface enables demand-oriented control of the primary system technology, so that energy-optimized operation can be achieved in conjunction with various sensors. These reduced energy consumptions can of course also be visualized for the building users and the building operator via various evaluations and dashboards.
